Victoria Kennedy

Victoria Kennedy’s litigation practice primarily focuses on contract and quasi-contract claims, insurance defense (D&O liability, premises and personal injury), government regulatory compliance, and labor and employment matters.  Her clients range from large financial institutions, insurance carriers, construction companies, and real estate developers to individual executives, authors, tech start-ups, franchisees, and small, local businesses.

Victoria began her career as a securities defense litigator in New York with Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP.  Prior to joining Romano Benowitz & Brochetelli, Victoria served as a Senior Program Attorney with PLI, and previously as Counsel with French & Casey, LLP and Russo & Gould LLP (formerly Russo & Toner) as an insurance defense and commercial litigator.  She was also Vice President and Senior Trial Counsel for Fidelity National Title Insurance, and a Senior Associate in litigation and government compliance with global law firm White & Case LLP.  From 2007-2008, Victoria took a hiatus from New York to be closer to family in her hometown of New Orleans where she spent the year as Counsel with the law firm Jones Walker, advising on securities matters and defending condominium boards and construction companies.

Clients laud Victoria’s unrelenting advocacy and tailored approach to every matter, having won numerous case dismissals and appellate decisions, several of which are cited as case law in current court decisions and legal treatises.  She is also known for delivering results for clients through effective pre-suit negotiation, ADR, or favorable out-of-court settlements.

Victoria also provides outside general counsel services to companies without in-house legal departments or require additional legal support for contract negotiations, day-to-day construction/real estate matters, and employment/HR issues.  Victoria has taught CLE courses on motion practice and insurance policy interpretation, and she has been named in the prestigious National Black Lawyers: Top 100.
